MUSIC

Course:  Group Guitar Lessons

Description: Beginning/Intermediate/Advance Guitar: 
Fulfill your dream of playing the guitar.  This course will give you a foundation and insight to the instrument.  The class will give the beginner a well rounded approach to the guitar for the goal of making music.  You will find answers to all of the questions you have about the instrument, start making music, and have fun doing it.  General musicianship, music theory and techniques will be taught and applied to the guitar at all levels.  Parental supervision for all children is required at home for the purpose of  fulfilling a minimum of 3 ½ hours of practice per week ( average ½ hour per day).

AGE RANGE OF STUDENTS:  8 yrs. + 

MATERIALS:  21st Century Guitar Method 1, by Aaron Stang (bar code #EL03842CD).  Cost - $14.95. Guitar, Method Book, Booklet (provide by the teacher), 2 pocket folder, pencil and paper.

Course:  Private Piano

Description: Learn to play piano!  25 minutes to 50 minute lessons available.  Siblings may share a time slot.  Price for enrichment is $15/half hour.  No more than 2 in a 25 minute period; no more than 3 in a 55 minute period.  Lessons will emphasize foundational positioning and motor skills as well as music reading.  Theory is touched on as part of a lesson, but a separate theory class is strongly encouraged

AGE RANGE OF STUDENTS:   8 yrs. + (exceptions for younger students with interview)

MATERIALS:  required books will vary with each student.  The parent will purchase on own or from me at cost (usually $10-15 every 3-6 months, depending on the student).

Course:   Violin

Description:
Learn to play violin either in private half to one hour classes or in a small group if more than one student are willing to work during the same time period. 

AGE RANGE OF STUDENTS:  any

MATERIALS: You must bring your own violin and any book that the student is currently working on.  As the student progresses, new books may have to be purchased.
